Cooking with children is never neat. Inevitably, some stray chopped veggies drop to the floor, you can’t quite remember where you put that ladle—and yes, flour somehow manages to make a comfortable living in your hair and across your cheek. It’s a fine microcosm for parenthood at its core: a beloved chaos peppered with giggles and sprinkled with playful, joyous noise.
It’s a mess. A lovely mess.
