One thing we learned about Jessica and Darren while spending the afternoon with them on their engagement shoot – is that they love to laugh and smile. Darren especially likes to laugh. And when he laughs he knows just how to get Jessica laughing and squealing as well! And, when our clients are laughing and having a good time, so are we :) Combine that with the fact that Jessica styled some amazing outfits for them to wear for their shoot (something that is soo important), and it all made their session super adorable! The background of Gregory Vineyards was beautiful (and we shared some wine together before the session started, of course!)
It was a few years ago, New Years Eve in 2011 to be exact – when these two soon-to-be-lovers crossed paths. They bumped into each other that evening, and Darren asked for Jessica’s phone number to call her again. He was convinced it was a fake number, so he called it right away to see if it was real! They started dating after that and have been together ever since. They got engaged in December, but actually started planning their wedding about a month before they were actually engaged! They knew they wanted to have their wedding at the Angus Barn, so they reserved that even before Darren popped the question. He promised he wouldn’t propose to her on Christmas, but true to his ability to make Jessica laugh – he gave her an empty box for Christmas as a giggle. :) When they went to the Angus Barn to make their final booking details for their wedding, he said he would leave the ring behind so it wouldn’t get lost, but unknown to her he brought the ring with and proposed there! The wonderful staff at Angus Barn was already clued in on his plans, so when he asked them to take a photo of him and Jessica alongside the lake, and she turned around to see him on one knee proposing – they were already prepared for it!

You two .. we had such a fun afternoon with you both. These pictures so amazingly capture the love, sweetness, and fun that y’all have with each other, and we’re so glad that we can document this amazing time in your life for you both! Your wedding in August is going to be so much fun :)
